The Suit Up for Success event brought smiles, hope and a new attitude for participants.
Many needed a suit to make that first impression, a stand-out moment for an interview towards a new job.
The inspiration for this event began with Monroe County Legislator Harris as a teen looking for a job, while attending college.
"I really didn't have anything suitable for a job interview,” Harris said. “And being able to afford something nice was an issue. I received two suits from a mentor for the job I currently have now," she said. "And look at me, more than two decades later, I am still here."
Suit Up for Success will continue in partnership with the Working Wardrobe of Volunteers of America. Suits are still available and can be picked up at Southwest Tribune at 518 W. Main Street and Working Wardrobe, 214 Lake Ave.
Please call Southwest Tribune before stopping by to pick-up a suit at 585-471-8208. The business is open Mon.-Fri./ 11am to 5pm
