President Joe Biden is increasingly losing the support of black voters because he has failed to deliver campaign promises that black and brown voters care about.

He has failed to reach across the aisle or secure majority support in his own party. Some of those key pieces of legislation many people of color care about can be passed without a majority vote in Congress like Voter’s Rights Reform, but Biden has refused to use his executive power to get it done.

What was planned to be a historic moment of Biden making good on one of his promises with the recent nomination to seat the first black woman on the United States Supreme Court is being seen as just another political ploy of tokenism.

The most recent CNN poll has him at 58 percent disapproval, 41 percent approval. In December, Biden was at 49 percent approval in the same poll. And among those who disapprove of his performance, 56 percent say the president didn't accomplish anything in his first year of which they approve. Less than 7-in-10 Black voters (69 percent) support the 46th president. This is significant, because more than 9-in-10 Black voters (92 percent) voted for him in 2020.

Nekima Levy Armstrong, a civil rights attorney and activist who is also a former president of the Minneapolis chapter of the NAACP, said recently. “I don’t think he has lived up to a lot of the campaign promises that he made, especially given the role of Black voters in helping him become the president of the United States,”

“We pointed out issues related to mass incarceration, to economic inequality, of course, and to what is in the news now with the push to advance voting rights,” Armstrong added. “I feel like Biden is basically doing the bare minimum in terms of being attentive to the needs and issues facing the Black community.”

In addition, a growing number of democratic voters believes the leaders are too old and out of touch and suggests the party is being governed like a mafia outfit.

Many democrats are pointing-out that the party has a safety net of political ploys in place to ensure the party’s top-brass commonly select the candidate, who will eventually run for president on the party’s designated ticket and not the democratic voters.

A clear example is the party’s political ploys to cheat and sabotage Democratic Senator Bernie Sanders run for president, twice.

In the first case, the leaders of the democratic party ordered the chair of the democratic national campaign committee to support the candidacy of Hillary Clinton, long before the race was over and the second proof is when Sanders was winning big against Biden, the leaders of the party made deals with the remaining candidates running in the democratic primary to drop out the race and pledge their votes to Biden.

The midterms are right around the corner and democrats will most likely lose their majority in the House of Representatives. In addition, the Republicans only need to gain one seat to take back the Senate, giving them control over both houses. If this happens as many predict, Republicans will no doubt proceed to ensure Biden becomes a lame duck president throughout his tenure.

In most polls, the president's overall approval is in the thirties and while black voters are having buyer’s remorse, Biden is losing the votes of most independents making matters for the democratic party hopeless going into the midterm elections.

According to a new Harvard CAPS-Harris Poll, fifty-six percent of suburban voters in the poll said they believe former President Trump was a better president than President Biden, while 44 percent said they believed Biden was the better president. Among surveyed voters who were labeled "Independent or other," 55 percent said they believed Trump was the better president and 45 percent said they believed Biden was the better president.

Meanwhile, 57 percent of suburban respondents said they are more likely to vote for a Republican candidate in the midterms, while 43 percent said they would be more likely to vote for a Democratic candidate. The poll found the same results among voters labeled "Independent or other."

These latest findings mark a major shift for both parties.

And that’s not what’s all going wrong in the White House.

Kamala Harris’s rating reached a “historic” new low in a poll which appeared to make her the least popular vice-president at this stage of an administration in at least 50 years according to reports in the media.

The National Post added that her approval rating sank to 27.8 per cent, and her disapproval score was 51.2 percent showing that she is more unpopular than Mike Pence, Joe Biden, Dick Cheney and Al Gore were at this point in their vice-presidencies.

Even Dan Quayle, the much-mocked vice-president of George W. Bush, was more popular after he had been in office for seven months with an approval rating of 43 per cent, and disapproval score of just 22 per cent. The figures represent a dramatic decline from when Harris took office, when her approval rating was generally over 50 per cent.

A columnist from the Washington Post said the Biden administration has been long on photo ops, embellished positive headlines, and so-called "woke" utterances. But it lacked genuine reforms to the federal government that would change the black community’s status as the nation’s permanent underclass.

“Many black voters appreciate Biden’s appointment of notable black political figures to positions in his administration, his establishment of Juneteenth as a national holiday, and his acknowledgment of the centennial of the Tulsa Massacre. But as a whole, black voters have considerable experience with exploitation via superfluous political gestures and superficial political appointments. They have seen such appointments before and have a name for it: Bureaucratic blackface, the practice of appointing blacks to positions with fancy titles with no real power, all to give the illusion of diversity and inclusion. These appointees’ lack of influence was illustrated by their silence when Biden denied 30,000 Haitians asylum into the country as if they were unruly Walmart shoppers on Black Friday.”
