LaShay D. Harris, Monroe County Legislator LD 27th and member of the public safety committee comments on Governor Cuomo's announcement of $55 Million in State Grant Funding to improve 911 technology.

"It is certainly good to know that there will be dollars allocated to improving the emergency communications in New York State. We have seen how disastrous it can be with poor or inoperable communications. We have learned from 9/11.," said Legislator Harris. "Monroe County will need the ability to keep up with the ever changing technology. This grant will aid in keeping our communities safe and truly support the efforts of our fire, EMS, police and other first responders."

Monroe County was awarded $1,727,572 and funds will expand Monroe County's ability to communicate, exchange valuable data, and streamline information for responding agencies.
